PRACTICE MAKES PURPOSE
SEVILLE MICHELLE
is committed to developing compelling lesson plans that center around jewelry design. Our workshops include imaginative material that encourage creative exploration. The focus is to ignite creativity, laughter and joy by providing fun and challenging ways to explore jewelry design. With an eye that sees the world through an aperture of optimism and possibility, Seville has brought her lesson plan to thousands of adults and children nationally and to places like Peru and El Salvador.
DEVELOPMENT BENEFITS
By prompting children to talk about their creative choice, it aids in their language development as they are encouraged to find new ways to talk about their projects. Acquiring new descriptive and emotive vocabulary is a vital part of their learning to effectively express themselves—a skill that is fundamental in how well they interact with other people. A project that requires some degree of planning, such as making patterns from candy, choosing colors for a bracelet, or deciding how to make necklace, are all superb for helping children to develop their cognitive skills.

Seville is 1 of 6 creative artists the Los Angeles County Library contracts to bring her unique approach to jewelry crafting to all 72 of their locations around the county. Seville has also produced over 15 events for the Los Angeles County Housing Development Authority (LACDA). Many of the patrons of her events with LACDA are under social and economic distress and her goal is provide them with a joyful activity that ignites their imagination beyond the perimeter of jewelry design.

Seville for the People curates imaginative activities around jewelry design for the people!
We are also dedicated to supporting a group of very special Girl Scouts Troop in South Central, Los Angeles, California.

ORIGINS
GIRL SCOUTS Troop #84005
Los Angeles, CA - After an officer-involved shooting occurred with gang members in Normandie Park, Harbor Gateway the community was left rattled with fear and in dire need of services to uplift and inspire them. Nicole Deering, Community Resource Specialist for the Neighborhood Prosecutors Program, LA City Attorney’s office was inspired to reach out to Girl Scouts of America to launch a troop the girls in the community could be a part of. Together with the LAPD Troop 84005 was born!
Since launching in 2019, the troop is free to join, meets weekly, reciting the Girls Scouts oath of honor. They attend field trips such as exploring museums, participating in beach clean ups, fishing outings and even discover their hidden jewelry design talents in jewelry led workshops.
